Even after the Fukushima incident that occurred in 2011 due to a tsunami that killed 19,000 individuals that also caused Fukushima’s future in providing energy via nuclear power down the gutters these things are not stopping Japan from dealing with power plants. In fact apart from addressing the effects that the reactor caused they are also improving the sites to meet the global standards even if it would takes years from now for them to legally operate once more.

Nuclear Power Plant
Japan has a couple of back stories wherein it would make you understand better why they have this loyalty to this sort of industry. After World War II this nation was left with nothing and they were forced to start from scratch and work their way up. Even in the 1960s fueled oil were being imported to their country and this gravely placed a dent on their budget as a nation. Wanting to be the one at the top Japan constantly fights to be the best and not the second nor third runner-up. They saw a great opportunity in nuclear power plants and it has been said that JAEA created a model that would reduce CO2 emissions by 90% by 2100. A really farfetched estimate but who knows, the next generations decades from now may be greatly benefitting with this progress and innovation.
Meanwhile as scientists, engineers, and researchers deal with this endeavor the public community refrains to get involved but only a few wants their opinion to get heard that this industry should finally be stopped due to the bad health effects it has on humans and nature. It disrupts the cycle of life and forces the entities affected to adapt to the changes rather than freely living and following its course. If you are an advocate for nature and of course keeping the peace then I believe that you too might be against what Japan is currently improving rather than choosing to discard these reactors for the good.
